Albanian-Jazz
With all this fusion, it is hard to categorise Kapsamun as part of any particular genre.
Ethno jazz, crossover and world music are the basic ingredients of Albanian-Jazz.
Because the basis for this combination of instruments consists of a rhythm group (piano,
bass, drums), two lead instruments (saxophone, violin) and improvised solos,
the term jazz broadly describes our interests. Kapsamun's repertoire is basically selected
and compiled from two different areas:
1. Traditional folk music pieces, primarily from Kosova/Albania, adapted and newly
arranged.
2. Original compositions developed from Eastern European and Middle Eastern
influences.
The repertoire is constantly evolving and being refreshed. Improvisation and interaction
are an important component of the musical concept. The band displays its talent as a
whole over far-reaching musical structures.
